New patent for a WP7 smartphone with swappable keyboard!


According to the picture above, Microsoft might be planning to release a competely new kind of a slide-out smartphone.


It's (obviously) a Windows Phone 7 device. And as you can see on the picture, you're gonna be able to choose between a keyboard, a gamepad and an additional battery (and one more thing we can't figure out what it's supposed to be) to put in the hole which slides out of the device.
Pretty good idea if you ask us - especially if it's true that those "innards" are also gonna work via Bluetooth.

But don't be too excited, yet. All we've got so far is the patents and this sketch. So nothing's confirmed. And as everyone knows, Microsoft doesn't build smartphones, so they'll have to look for a manufacturer... let's hope they pick a good one.
