iPhone 5 to be released in September? iPad 3 at thanksgiving?

Impatient about the release of Apple's newest smartphone? Well, according to some rumors of China, the iPhone 5 is going to be released in the second week of September. So far, September, 5th was thought to be true, but the 6th to the 15th seems also very reasonable.

Looks like this isn't applicable to the iPad 3. Rumor has it, that there are some problems with its hardware. Due to this intricacies, the release is more likely to be about thanksgiving, which would be November, the 24th this year. Christmas present? Well, most likely for some of us.
As for the release of the iPhone, it's almost certain that it will be released some time in September. But you shouldn't count on the iPad, yet. Some experts wonder why Apple would even release a successor already, since the iPad 2 is still sellig extremely good. Well, we hope they're wrong. Stay tuned.

Will Nokia release the N9 in September?

Will the first and the last MeeGo smartphone be released in mid-september? It seems so! Orange Switzerland lists the N9 on their site with the following notification:

This product is not yet available but will come soon. Check out its features and get ready for its launch on the 15.09.2011
aha...Well, one month and a half... That is okay.
Sure we have to wait because Nokia didn't confirmed any exact release date, but this sounds realistic.

Again, lets wait and hope this date is true...

Huge price drop - 3DS from Nintendo getting much cheaper!

Remember when Nintendo sayed the 3DS will be their new bestseller?! They also promised a revolutionary 3D-effect and great games...Well, not only the team of CG seems to be disappointed about Nintendo's new handheld: only 710.000 3DS were sold in the first quarter! That seems to be the reason why Nintendo wants to cut the price!

So, what is the new price? $249... $169,99 ! Yeah you've read right! $80 off the original price!
Finally, Nintendo realizes that the original price was way to high and the games which are available at the moment aren't real blockbusters...

CG is interested in seeing how this proceeds in future. Will the 3DS get as popular as the predecessor? Time will tell...

Debt Ceiling Charts

This morning we are sharing a number of debt ceiling charts and infographics to help put the situation in perspective.   By now everyone should be aware that this is not only the fault of one party.  Both parties have significantly contributed to the current debt ceiling crisis.   One of the charts clearly shows that this has been a problem going back 30 years and beyond!   Reagan, Bush, Clinton and others have contributed significantly to the problem.    The bottom line, as we have mentioned in other posts, is that this is a problem that goes way beyond Republicans and Democrats, Fed Chairmen, and Presidents.  This is a problem with the way our society is setup and the fundamental views we carry on money, debt, fiscal responsibility and personal spending habits.  Don't expect any of this to change until the people begin to feel real pain.

Dell Streak 10 Pro - China launch this week!

Yeah, finally Dell is going to launch their newest tablet - on Friday: The Streak Pro 10!
The bad news: The US and Europe still have to wait a bit longer (do not know how long), because Dell declared they will first sell it China.

We also do not know the full spec-list, but all we can say is that there will not be any big surprise. The 10-incher features, like nearly all tablets, the Tegra 2 SoC, a WXGA display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution and, of course, Google's latest OS - Android Honeycomb.

So, after the Streak 5 and Streak 7, Dell will release a 10-inch tablet for the first time...

Our expectations? Well, we think that the tablet will have a high build quality due to the fact that it will have a metal body. Dell needs to score on this point, because we believe that in the end of this year the new Tegra 3-powered tablets will be ready for sale (oh yeah, quad-core baby!)

Stay tuned for further news about the release dates and pricing!

Pics of HTC's new tablet leaked - codenamed Puccini

Wondering why there isn't even one 10.1-incher with Honeycomb from HTC? Wondering why one of the most successful (and CG's favorite, by the way) smartphone manufacturers doesn't want a piece of that Honeycomb pie? Well, so are we. But everyone can stop wondering... eventually. According to our fellows of bgr.com, the pictures shown are from the long awaited HTC Puccini - the codename of the device. Read on to find out all the rumored specs and to see the two promising pictures.

  • 10.1 inch display (1024x800)
  • 1.5GHz dual-core processor
  • 8MP camera with dual-LED flash
  • stereo speakers
  • microphone
  • supports stylus input
  • Android Honeycomb with HTC Sense
  • 4G (LTE)

If someone asked us, we would say "give that thing a quad-core processor and it'll be one hell of a tablet". Sadly... nobody did. But still, this are awesome news and we are more than extremely looking forward to the first Honeycomb tablet with HTC Sense and stylus support. Stay tuned.

New Walkman from Sony!

Yeah, we played our music with cassette recorders, CD players, LPs, maybe also with MiniDiscs. Today, the MP3-player is mainly used in public. But there is only one brand which survived all new technologies: The Walkman! And yes, we have new information about the lastest version!

The newest MP3-Player from Sony will be built in four different versions: 8GB, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. Enough space for your music collection, hm?!
The only thing that disappoints us is that it will not feature Wi-Fi...

The UK retailer Buy.com lists the living legend for £130 ($213). Release date? Sunday this week....

The Truth on the Debt Ceiling

Why won't anybody listen to this man? Many people are asking that question these days as the debt ceiling gets ready to expire. Frankly, the reasons should be obvious. First, almost every person living in this country today, and those in power, have only lived in an economy funded by debt - personal debt, private debt, & government debt. Mortgages, credit cards, car loans, and margin accounts fuel the world economy. Debt is so ingrained in everything we do, that we cannot imagine living without it. Can you imagine buying a home without a mortgage? Suggest that to your friends, and see what reaction you get! Well, 100 years ago that is exactly how most people purchased a home. You could get a mortgage, but you had to put down 50% for a term of only 5 years! After the Great Depression, nobody could get a mortgage.

The point is not to go back 100 years.  The point is that we are "debt zombies" who wander the city in search of the next credit card to eat.  We need debt to survive, or so we have been taught.  Ever watch a documentary about a cult leader who brainwashed his followers into doing terrible things, and wonder how anyone could let that happen to them?  Look in the mirror folks, because each of us has been brainwashed.  Ron Paul is the outsider who enters the cult and starts shaking people telling them to "wake up, this is not right"!  Of course, nobody will listen, as expected.

Ben Bernanke is the cult leader, along with other politicians.  They are not as evil as a cult leader, because they are just doing what their job description tells them to do.  It is the system that is the problem, and they are just puppets in the system.   Their actions are very predictable, and unfortunately, the result will not be much better than many of those cults we see on TV.  The only good news is that you can protect yourself if you are willing to "wake up".

LG's next generation smartphones leaked!

With the Optimus Black, the Optimus Speed and the Optimus 3D, LG did is doing a pretty good job this year. And just like every company, they wanna do it even better next year. As our friends of pocketnow.com report, there are seven (!) new phones to be released this year. Read on to see all the details we've got so far about every phone.

the LG Prada K2

  • 4.3 inch NOVA display
  • 16GB of internal memory
  • dual-core processor
  • 8MP camera
  • 8.8mm thin
  • Android 2.3

the LG Univa
  • 3.5 inch display
  • 800MHz processor
  • 5MP camera
  • 11.9mm thin
  • Android 2.3

the LG Victor
  • 3.8 inch OLED display (WVGA)
  • 1 GHz single-core processor
  • 5MP camera
  • DLNA support
  • Android 2.x

the LG Gelato
  • 3.2 inch display (HVGA)
  • 800MHz processor
  • 3MP camera
  • version with an NFC chip (Near Field Communication) in Q4
  • Android 2.x

the LG E2

There's not much to say about the E2, yet. It's supposed to be a very cheap and small phone. Camera will have only 3 megapixels and it will surely run any version of Android. That's all for now.

the LG Fantasy

The infos on the Fantasy are also very poor. One thing is for sure: it will run Windows Phone 7 Mango. As most other WP7 devices, it will probably have a 1GHz single-core processor and a 5MP camera. And the design seems pretty similar to the HTC HD7, doesn't it? Well, that's certainly not a bad point.

last but most certainly not least, the LG K

Unfortunately, ther's no picture of it available, yet. But it's not unlikely that this is one of the first smartphones with a true 720p HD display (1280x720). Pocketnow.com believes, this could be the device currently known as the P930. 4.5 inches are pretty reasonable, but of course, not confirmed.

Once again, each one of these devices is to be released this year. That's one good reason to be looking forward to the cold time of the year.

New flagship of Motorola with 13 (!) megapixels

These days, it seems like the development of smartphones doesn't even stop for one second. They get thinner, lighter, faster and more and more powerful. And it looks like Motorola is one of the first - or even the first - companies to do the next step. With their new phone, codenamed Dinara, they push the smartphone heaven onto the next level.

It sports a camera with breathtaking 13 megapixels and a true HD-display, meaning the resolution is at 1280x720 pixels. It's also gonna have 1GB of RAM and a processor from Texas Instruments whose GHz aren't known, yet. Rumor has it that the Dinara will look very similar to the Droid Bionic (picture below).

What Android version is it going to run? Well, the opinions differ on this questions. Some say Gingerbread, some say Ice Cream Sandwich. As the phone comes out at about the same time as Google's newest smartphone OS (at the end of the year), we would bet it's Ice Cream Sandwich. We from CG are extremely looking forward to see that stunning display the first time. Stay tuned.

Is Samsung working on a Galaxy 3D?

According to the ET News, Samsung is working on a new high-end phone: The Galaxy 3D! Yeah, like the name says, the phone includes a 3D Display and a 3D camera. But that is not all! Take a look at the specs we know for now:

  • 1,2 GHz dual-core Exynos SoC
  • HDMI
  • 2x 8 megapixel camera
  • video recording:  HD-ready in 3D (probably also full-HD)
  • running Android 2.3, but also ready for Ice Cream Sandwich

Yeah, sounds good! The rumor says that the phone will be released at the end of the year! The team of CG is really looking forward for a hands-on...

LG promising 55-inch OLED TV in 2012!

Ah ok, well, we have OLED TVs in the store right now. These little 15 and 11 incher from Sony or LG which cost a half eye and are just to small. Nothing new.... But wait! LG didn't only prosmise OLED TVs, they also said there will be 55-inch TVs!
Interested? Well, we have to wait till 2012, said LG. Just remember, LG showed us 31-inch OLED TVs this year, so we have faith in the company from South Korea, that they will make it...
For now, we have to wait and drink a cup of tea...

Here a pic from the 31-inch OLED TV:

New Xbox 360 bundle! Star Wars design!

Great Star Wars fan? Then we have something for you: the new Xbox 360 bundle! It features a R2-D2 themed Xbox including a C-3PO controller. But that's not all!
The bundle features a Kinect which will be white-colored and also a 320GB hard drive.
Any game? Yeah, like in all Kinect packages there is Kinect Adventures and, of course, in a Star Wars bundle there has to be a Star Wars game: Star Wars Kinect!
How much does it cost? Microsoft says it wil cost 449 bucks at the release....
